July 4, 2015 witnessed a significant breakthrough in music history, as Austin Richard Post, known to the world as Post Malone, dropped his inaugural song, "White Iverson", on SoundCloud. Produced by Fki 1st and Louis Bell, the track was inspired by Post Malone's passion for basketball and his admiration for the rapper Allen Iverson. In no time, the single drove over two million plays on the platform.

In the winter of 2016, Post Malone's iconic mixtape, 'August 26th', officially premiered.
